Last updated: June 2026
This Cookies Policy explains how VowLens uses cookies, local storage, session storage and similar technologies on the VowLens website and service.
VowLens is a UK wedding technology service for couples who want to collect candid guest-captured wedding memories in one private place. The service helps couples gather photos, short videos and, depending on the package, written or voice messages from their wedding guests.
This Cookies Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
1. Who we are
VowLens is the legal and trading name of a sole trader business established in Scotland.

Website: https://vowlens.co.uk
2. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device when you visit a website. They help websites work, remember choices, improve security and, where used, understand how people interact with a website.
Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, pixels, tags and software development tools that store or access information on your device.
3. Why we use cookies and similar technologies
VowLens may use cookies and similar technologies to:
- make the website and service work properly;
- support checkout, order and gallery functionality;
- maintain security and prevent abuse;
- remember cookie preferences;
- remember whether a newsletter pop-up has already been shown or completed;
- understand website performance where analytics are used;
- improve the customer and guest experience.
4. Strictly necessary technologies
Strictly necessary cookies and similar technologies are used where needed to make the website or service work. These may support security, checkout, upload pages, gallery access, session handling, form protection, cookie preference storage and service reliability.
These technologies are not used for advertising. They are required for the website or service to function properly.
5. Preference technologies
Preference technologies may be used to remember choices you make, such as cookie choices or whether you have already seen certain website prompts.
6. Newsletter pop-up storage
VowLens may use local storage or session storage to remember whether the newsletter pop-up has already been shown during a browsing session, or whether a visitor has already successfully subscribed.
This helps avoid repeatedly showing the same pop-up to the same visitor. The pop-up storage does not itself add someone to the mailing list. A person is added to the mailing list only if they submit their email address and tick the marketing consent box.
7. Analytics technologies
VowLens may use analytics technologies to understand how visitors use the website, which pages are visited, and how the website performs.
Where analytics cookies or similar non-essential technologies require consent, we will use them only where the required consent has been obtained.
8. Marketing or advertising technologies
VowLens does not currently rely on behavioural advertising cookies as a core part of the service.
If we introduce advertising or retargeting technologies in the future, we will update this Cookies Policy and seek consent where required.
9. Current cookie position
| Category | Used? | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary cookies | Yes. | Website operation, checkout, security, upload pages and gallery access. |
| Cookie preference storage | Yes, where needed. | Remembering cookie choices. |
| Newsletter pop-up storage | Yes. | Remembering whether the newsletter pop-up has already been shown during a session, and whether a visitor has already subscribed, so that the pop-up is not repeated unnecessarily. |
| Analytics cookies | Only where enabled and legally permitted. | Understanding website use and performance. |
| Advertising or retargeting cookies | Not currently used as a core part of the service. | Would be used only if introduced and consented to where required. |
10. Third-party technologies
Some cookies or similar technologies may be provided by third parties that help us operate VowLens. These may include hosting, payment, security, email, analytics or other service providers.
Relevant providers may include:
- Cloudflare, for hosting, infrastructure, security and storage;
- Stripe, for payment processing;
- Resend, for email delivery;
- analytics providers, if analytics are enabled.
Third-party providers may set or access cookies or similar technologies where needed to provide their services.
11. Cookies and personal data
Some cookies and similar technologies may involve personal data, such as IP addresses, device information, unique identifiers, website activity, cookie preferences or technical logs.
Where personal data is involved, our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and share personal data.
12. Managing cookies
You can usually manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block, delete or restrict cookies.
If you block all cookies or similar technologies, parts of the VowLens website or service may not work properly.
Where VowLens provides a cookie banner or preference tool, you can use it to manage available choices for non-essential cookies.
13. Local storage and session storage
Local storage and session storage are browser-based storage technologies. They can remember information on your device in a similar way to cookies.
VowLens may use these technologies for limited functional purposes, such as remembering whether a newsletter pop-up has been shown or completed.
You can usually clear local storage and session storage by clearing site data in your browser settings.
14. Changes to this Cookies Policy
We may update this Cookies Policy from time to time.
The latest version will be published on the VowLens website.
